The Activities data set portrays the areas where activities are accomplished as a part of the silviculture program of work, funded through the budget allocation process and reported through the Forest Service Activity Tracking System (FACTS) database within the Natural Resource Manager (NRM) suite of applications. The activities are part of the Performance Measures used to rate Agency performance in meeting the Department's Strategic Goals. It is important to note that this layer may not contain all accomplished activities; the spatial portion of the activity description is not currently enforced by FACTS and at this time some are optionally reported by Forest Service units. As spatial data reporting is enforced by the application and acceptance of reporting increases for both tabular and spatial we hope to improve the quality and comprehensiveness of the data used for this layer in coming years. Metadata and Downloads. distributor https://apps.fs.usda.gov/arcx/rest/services/EDW/EDW_SilvicultureReforestationNeeds_01/MapServer/1 dataset Data entry is accomplished by authorized Forest Service personnel through a web application behind the U.S. Forest Service firewall and is restricted by access requirement protocols. Data is accurate up to the publication date and attribute domains are valid values from Natural Resource Manager (NRM) Forest Activity Tracking System (FACTS). Generally the source information used to record spatial locations are from: 1) on-screen digitizing with a georeferenced topographic or image background; or 2) GPS field collected positions. Forest Service Activity Tracking (FACTS) spatial features in ActivityPolygon_Subunit and tabular data from ACTIVITY_FACTS_ATTRIBUTES are merged based on like spatial identification codes (SUID) in each set of data. A spatial feature will be created for every activity record in the Activity_Facts_Attribute tabular table. Only changed or new data in the sources are processed. Any features that have been deleted from the source are also deleted in the Activity_SilvReforestation feature class. Spatial features from the merged output are loaded into the feature class and GIS acres are calculated for each feature on a nightly basis. 2016-01-01T00:00:00
