*Cases reported include positive COVID-19 tests results from both the LDH Office of Public Health Laboratory and commercial labs. The CDC no longer requires that positive test results be confirmed. Cases are assigned to parish based on the residence of the patient. Patients may be hospitalized or seek care outside their Parish of residence.

**A person is presumed recovered if 

\n\n

1) it has been more than 14 days, since he/she tested positive and he/she is not currently in the hospital or deceased (when hospital status is known), or 
\n2) it has been more than 21 days, since he/she tested positive and he/she is not deceased (when hospital status is unknown).  

\n\n

Presumed recovered counts will be updated weekly.

\n\n

 

\n\n

Deaths reported include a cumulative count of COVID-19 deaths. Cases are assigned to parish based on the residence of the patient.

\n\n

***Probable COVID deaths are deaths identified by coroners and/or physicians as COVID-19 deaths or as probable/suspected/possible COVID-19 deaths without a lab positive result. This number could change if pending test results turn out positive or negative. Probable death counts will be updated weekly.

\n\n

 

\n\n

Tests reported here include those completed by the LDH Office of Public Health Laboratory and those performed by commercial labs and reported to the state.

\n\n

Tests are assigned to parish based on the residence of the individual being tested when possible. Some negative test results from commercial labs may not have been reported to the state. Some of the commercial test results reported to the state are from out of state.

\n\n

 

\n\n

Age information related to positive cases may lag behind the initial reporting of those cases. We are updating data as we receive it.

\n\n
